All our programs are designed to be unique to the community in which they are established, and will be tailored to fit the particular aspects of the communities in which they are built and run; they will all share the following characteristics:
Child-centred and child-focused - Promoting a harmonious and yet diverse community of children
Inclusive and free - Available to any child within that community who wants to join it
Entirely community based - ‘Community’ may include schools and wider community
No academic conflict - As an after-school program
High frequency - Multiple days per week, and several hours per week.
No previous music experience required - We will teach them everything they need
Focused on development of key personal attributes - Self-discipline, respect (self- and of others), and teamwork
Based on 'learning by doing' - Achieving the difficult Both fun, beautiful and empowering
Use the collective power of between 60 and 100 children - Becoming orchestra-communities
Use the “Orchestra” as a large, inclusive and encompassing community - All for one and one for all
Providing a safe and inclusive place - No one is made to feel a loner, or ever singled out
No fault - Treats 'mistakes' as points of learning - No one is put down; all are encouraged to do their personal best
Community engagement and cohesion - Exposes the child's family and the wider community to a rich cultural experience, and collectively engages them to provide a process of social cohesion.
