Symphony For Life Foundation Board Symphony For Life Foundation has an active professional board, whose members are passionate engaged with the business, government, non-profit enterprises and general communities. The Board consists of an Executive, who primarily focus on broad strategic direction and governance, and the General Board members who focus predominantly on specific aspects of governance and programmed business.
Board Governance Process The Symphony For Life Foundation practices excellence in governance. We follow the following principles:
Accountability Accountability is a fundamental requirement of good governance. Symphony For Life has an obligation to report, explain and be answerable for the consequences of decisions it has made on behalf of the organisation and the community the organisation services and supports.
Transparency of decision-making People should be able to follow and understand the decision-making process. This means that they will be able to clearly see how and why a decision was made – what information, advice and consultation the Board considered, and how it complied with the Foundations objects, policies, objects, and any legislative requirements (when relevant) the Board followed.
Responsiveness Our Board will always respond quickly to the needs of the organisation while balancing competing interests in a timely, appropriate manner.
Effective and efficient The Board will implement decisions and follow processes that make the best use of the available people, resources and time to ensure the best possible results for the organisation and the communities we service and support.
Meeting Legal obligations Our Board will always act legally and in the spirit of honesty and abiding by the legislation that governs a not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee.
Ethical Our Board will at all times be ethical in all its business and its dealings within its governance role. It is governed by the organisation’s Ethics Policy, and adheres to its principles and guidelines.
